I was raised in Decatur, GA after being adopted from China when I was 21 months old. At the start of my YAV year, I will have earned a B.A. in Cinema and Television Arts from Elon University in North Carolina. Being a filmmaker has always been an integral part of my identity, but after having an amazing experience abroad in Spain and Morocco this past January, I wanted to put my professional career on hold so I could have the opportunity to travel more and pursue other passions of mine. I’ve also grown up in the church and have had the wonderful opportunity to grow my faith while being at college. I have realized that I have a strong desire to do work that is reflective of God’s love abroad and feel incredibly blessed that God has provided me with this opportunity. I could not be more excited to witness the ways in which God will work in my life over the next year to grow me in my faith and provide me with a challenging yet unforgettable experience.
